Need a quality solid-state #83 upgrade?

We offer a premium version of the #83 solid-state upgrade that is fused to protect your transformer. Yes, solid-state diodes are reliable, but they are known to short occasionally, and you will be happy that you bought our fused #83 solid-state upgrade instead of a cheapass unfused module that can damage or destroy your transformer when its diodes short someday. I have personally seen several instances of the cheap fleabay SS83 upgrade modules that have shorted out and damaged or ruined the tube tester transformer. It happens, but you can take steps to better protect your tester! Don’t expect a fuse on the transformer primary will adequately protect you against this problem — it will not.

Set of 3 PRECISION REFERENCE CAPACITORS – for R/C “capacitor tester” rebuild of standard (non-Sprague) models, such as Heathkit, Eico, Knight, Paco, etc….  For those of you doing your own cap tester repair, I sell a set of precision reference capacitors. You get the entire set of 3 reference caps (1 of 200 pf, 1 of 0.02 µf, and 1 of 2.00 µf). The 200pf cap will be variable for maximum flexibility.

You NEED precision reference capacitors to achieve an accurate capacitor tester. If you want a full set of precision capacitors, plus 2 extras to subsequently test the accuracy of your own tester, you can buy the “one plus” set.

SPRAGUE TEL-OHMIKE PRECISION REFERENCE CAPACITORS — For those of you doing your own TelOhmike repair, I sell a set of 5 precision reference capacitors. First, you get 2 precision reference caps (1 of 2.0 µf, 1 of 0.02 µf.) Your original 200-pf cap is left installed. Next, you get a complete set of 3 precision caps (1 of 2.0 µf, 1 of 0.02 µf, and 1 of 200-pf) for use in testing and calibrating your machine.

This set is applicable to any Tel-Ohmike model.
